With 18 years of teaching experience, creativity and learning have always been central to my work. Alongside teaching, silversmithing has been a lifelong passion that began in my twenties, inspired by watching my dad build and solder parts onto his motorbike.
Over the years, I have created handcrafted silver jewellery for family, friends, and private commissions, developing a love for traditional silversmithing techniques and contemporary design.
More recently, I began teaching silversmithing workshops to sixth form students as part of an enrichment programme. Seeing how much students benefited from having a calm, creative space away from academic pressures inspired me to expand my workshops beyond the classroom.
Today, I run relaxed and welcoming silversmithing workshops in beautiful venues and home settings. My workshops are designed for beginners and anyone looking to enjoy a creative, mindful experience while learning new jewellery-making skills and creating their own handmade silver pieces.
Testimonials
My daughter and I wanted to do something crafty together and Lou’s ring-making workshop was ideal. Lou’s instruction was clear and easy to follow and she was as hands-on or -off as each of us needed. Every stage of the process was explained and demonstrated patiently. The others in the group were all very firendly and we had a great time at the workshop. Best of all, we each have a lovely silver ring to show for our efforts.
